A Stay at Wolcott Yale
Bed & Breakfast

Wolcott Yale Bed and Breakfast view from street

The Yale side (to the right) houses the 3 suites for guests.  Only one person or group is booked at any time.  The accessible areas include the Pioneer Room - a cozy sitting room with a fireplace, the Kitchenette - with drinks and snacks available at any time, and the Colonial suite.  Upstairs, there are two more suites, the George Washington room and the Chatham Freeman room.  There is another common room on the second floor with table for playing games and an extra twin bed for another guest.

With many historical features, there are still modern conveniences.  There is modern heat and air conditioning.  A mini-fridge keeps drinks and snacks cold.  A coffee maker is ready to brew each hot cup.  WiFi is available.

Breakfast is freshly prepared and served at a common table in the Kitchenette.   Dietary restrictions can be accommodated, if known in advance.

There is a hot tub in the back yard, that is not wheelchair accessible, but can be used by most guests.  The gazebo is screened in, allowing a breeze to pass through, but staying relatively bug-free.

The Colonial Room

Colonial Room
Colonial Shower

Wheelchair accessible, this suite includes a queen-size bed with an adjustable base.  The wall paneling is original to the house.  The ceiling is made of the exposed original joists with corrugated steel in between.  This adds a unique antique look to the room.

The bathroom features an easy access shower with a tiled bench.

The Chatham Freeman Room

Chatham Freeman Room

The Chatham Freeman room is upstairs and features a queen size bed.  The floor is original to the house and there is original paneling on the interior wall.

The bathroom also has a paneled wall and a tiled shower.

Chatham Freeman Bathroom

Chatham was a slave owned by Noah Yale, who gained his freedom by serving in the revolutionary war in place of one of Noah’s sons.  He served in a regiment of 300 black men and came back after 3 years to claim his freedom.

The George Washington Room

George Washington Bedroom

The George Washington Room is also upstairs and features a full size bed and a twin size bed.  The wall paneling boards are the original color.  The ceiling and floor are also original to the house.

George Washington Bathroom

The bathroom features a slipper tub with a hand held sprayer, but no shower.

18 C Room

Accessible only through either the George Washington or the Chatham Freeman rooms, the 18 C (18th Century) Room is a place for relaxing, playing games, or watching TV.  There is an extra twin bed for an additional guest.
